Aleppo. Seit Monaten toben die Kämpfe im syrischen Aleppo. Ein 360-Grad-Video zeigt die schweren Zerstörungen: Weite Teile liegen in Trümmern.

Der Widerstand der Rebellen in der heftig umkämpften nordsyrischen Stadt Aleppo bricht immer mehr zusammen. Regierungstruppen hätten die gesamte Altstadt Aleppos unter Kontrolle gebracht, meldete die Syrische Beobachtungsstelle für Menschenrechte am Mittwoch. Die Rebellen waren demnach zu einem Rückzug aus dem Gebiet gezwungen, weil sie Gefahr liefen, eingekesselt zu werden.

Bereits am Dienstag hatten die Armee und ihre Verbündeten das strategisch wichtige Viertel Al-Schaar eingenommen. Seit dem Beginn der Offensive der Regierungstruppen und ihrer Verbündeten im November haben die Rebellen mehr als 70 Prozent ihres bislang kontrollierten Gebiets in Ost-Aleppo verloren.

Ein 360-Grad Video, das vom Aleppo Media Center verbreitet wurde, zeigt nun die schweren Zerstörungen in der Stadt, die einst die blühende Wirtschaftsmetropole Syriens war.

Zehntausende sind auf der Flucht

Die frühere Handelsmetropole zählt im fast sechs Jahre dauernden Bürgerkrieg zu den umkämpftesten Gebieten. Heftige Gefechte und Luftangriffe haben eine Massenflucht in Ost-Aleppo ausgelöst. Die Menschenrechtsbeobachter erklärten, seit Mitte November hätten rund 80.000 Menschen ihre Häuser in den Rebellengebieten verlassen.

Aus Regierungskreisen hieß es, es gebe Verhandlungen der syrischen und russischen Armee mit Rebellen über einen Abzug der oppositionellen Milizen aus Aleppo. Von Seiten der Rebellen gab es dazu keine Bestätigung. Damaskus will einer neuen Waffenruhe erst zustimmen, wenn die bewaffneten Regimegegner Aleppo verlassen haben.

Rebellen schlugen Feuerpause vor

Die Rebellenmilizen schlugen eine neue fünftägige Feuerpause vor, damit Verletzte und Zivilisten aus der Stadt gebracht werden könnten. Erst wenn sich die humanitäre Lage verbessert habe, könne über eine Zukunft der Stadt verhandelt werden, hieß es in einer Erklärung.

Nach UN-Angaben gibt es kein funktionierendes Krankenhaus mehr. Bis zum Beginn der Offensive lebten in Ost-Aleppo nach Schätzungen noch rund 250.000 Menschen. (dpa)
